Take Action for Rose
I think a lot of people don't realize [Rose O'Neill] died in poverty because she had helped her family and anybody else that wanted help. And all during the time when she had money, she traveled to Italy, Paris, and New York City, what was her favorite place? . . . Here in the Ozarks, in Missouri, she represented to the world, this famous artist, that loved Missouri, loved the Ozarks and she depicted that in a lot of her art. People miss that. They miss seeing these Cabin Folk, the hill folk that lived around her and loved her and knew her as this special, special person and I think people miss that. They miss seeing and really looking at her art and seeing how she was inspired by the beauty of the Ozarks..
